Sunita Rao

Sunita Rao is a PhD student in accounting. She plans to pursue her dissertation in auditing. She will be working with Professor Rajendra Srivastava

 

Ryan Drake

Ryan Drake is working towards his BS degree in accounting. He will work for Professor Alexander on tax related research projects

 

Andrew Backhusi

Andrew Backhus is currently in the AIS program. As an E&Y Student Fellow, Andy will work for Professor Ed O'Donnell and help him, initially, in gathering case and reference materials for his graduate course. Next, he would gather information for a study that Professor O'Donnell would like to conduct on information integrity, a project that would examine how people use accounting information provided through XBRL to make decisions.

 

 

Tony Chong

Tony Chong is a graduate student in accounting. He will be working on a project dealing with XBRL (Extensible Business reporting Language) taxonomy. He will be matching the accounting terms with the XBRL Spec. 2.1 taxonomy to be used in building FRAANK's intelligence for tagging purposes.

 

Vandana Samala

Vandana is a graduate student in computer science at KU. She will be working on XBRL related projects. First task for her is to develop intelligence in FRAANK to understand auditor's report and SOX 404 report in 10K filings and create a database of the type of report with company's name and other relevant information. Also, she will be working on updating the FRAANK database to make it Sep. 2.1 compatible.

 

Ashwin Chimata

Ashwin will work on the research project "FRAANK." This project is being developed at the School of Business, University of Kansas, as an on-going project on "Financial Reporting and Auditing Agent with Net Knowledge." This project involves programming in Perl and SQL database languages to access financial and non-financial information through the Internet of publicly held companies from the SEC Database called 'Edgar'. He will be writing codes in Perl to parse the information on the financial statement to collect desired financial and non-financial information.
